I'm looking for a logo and font to represent my personal brand as a musician and as a communications professional.
The branding will build upon my current brand (see rafemusic.com ) in its clean, simple, black and white presentation, but be updated to reflect the more mature nature of my music and work.
Though it will be mature and professional, it will also have an element of quirk and playfulness.
Deliverables will be my name written in the decided font, and the logo that accompanies it. They will be used as a web banner, as well as in a number of digital and print contexts.
Font reading: Rafe Morris
This, I feel, is the most important element. Here are a few thoughts...
It needs to be easily read.
It needs to be a balance of elegant, mature, and professional, while being playful, quirky, and unique.
It should be predominantly (if not all) black and white, but I'm open to a little bit of colour of you feel it's awesome.
I'm not a huge fan of the thin swirly font. I like a bit of thickness so it can be easily read from a distance. (it will be used on posters in the future).
In the past I drew a little stick figure that I used for a few album covers and it worked well because it was cute and comical. My music is no longer as comical. At first I was thinking maybe a more proper line drawing of my face, but then I saw a few other songwriters who went down that path and I don't think any of them have come out very well. Part of me still likes the idea because it's kind of an extension of the past brand, but part of me thinks that a line drawing of my face will likely look a bit crap.
So perhaps my initials? I'll leave those ideas to you, Captain Designer!
I'd like you to have a look at my website - www.rafemusic.com
Get a feeling of what I have done in the past. Lyrically engaging songs and performances, largely relying on humour. Now, my music is less reliant on humour, but still based around engaging and poignant lyrics. A more mature style, which the visual brand needs to align with.
Here are a few songs to give you an idea of what I'm about now:
I've attached a photo of me and you can find more on my personal Facebook page. I'm happy to provide you with more.
I would like to have a range of options, and please specify the number of redrafts you are happy to provide.
Please feel free to ask any questions of me. This is the first time I've commissioned work online, so be gentle. I'm not sure how people price themselves in this world. My ideal amount is $100, but if it costs $200 to be guaranteed satisfaction, that's something I might consider.
Looking forward to working with someone awesome!
