While i'm reviewing that, as quick example problem:
Say you have a device with network interfaces 10.0.0.100 & 127.0.0.1
application X bound to socket *:1000
You wish to bind to 127.0.0.1:1000
Can you think of any parameters you can set which may allow you to bind to this port despite application X being bound to it using wildcard interface?
