We have to convert a lot of files which are stored in a S3 bucket. They can be converted using a specialized commandline program which unfortunately only runs on Windows or MacOS. Reason is that it requires QuickTime.
So we imagine a workflow like this: A windows instance is run on EC2. We would like to work in EC2 because traffic between EC2 and S3 is free and we have a lot of very big files. So whenever this instance is run a script is called which checks if there are new files in a s3 bucket which have not yet been converted. If yes, the files are pulled from S3. These are special videofiles which are zipped. So they have to be unzipped first. Then an existing and very special commandline program is run to do the conversion. Output is a MOV. Finally this MOV should be stored in a different s3 bucket.
We are looking for someone who can provide a simple solution for this. We prefer Ruby developers because our main system is written in Ruby on Rails (on ubuntu). But as this is some job which just has to be done and is completely separate from our main system an other language would also be acceptable.
Make us a offer for a fixed price.
