Looking for the perfect person add to the team. This individual will eventually become the leader of the team.
First, off let me say this job isn't for the feint of heart. It is going to require some top tier coding. Every single line written will be reviewed and scrutinized. The code must be close to perfect, and extremely efficient, the first time around. Not after numerous iterations. You have to be consistent, and have full attention to detail. If this isn't you, but I'm sorry, you won't be a good fit.
Expectations (Must Haves):
Solid MVC experience, with deep understanding of what code goes where and why.
Clean Code - Never repeat yourself, thoughtful comments, structured, logical and clean.
STRONG SQL - I mean STRONG. Sub queries, and logical SQL via stored procedures.
Excellent PHP - live it, breathe it, speak it. You can push this language to its limits, and then even exceed them. OOP ..... of course!
Great English - have to be able to read the requirements and speak with me!
Knoweldge in Version Control Systems - I use GIT , and if your hired so will you.
Positive Attitude - There is no: "I can't do this". Only, what do I need to learn or do to accomplish what must be done.
Perfect HTML / CSS - This easy language is misused by almost everyone. Tell my why and how!
A decent PC - chances are you'll be running a few VM's at once. You don't need a high end PC, but at least six gigs of memory, with a decent CPU.
Running a flavor Linux/Unix - If your not using Linux on a daily occasion to develop web app's, don't bother applying. Seriously, don't!.
At least 3 years of experience.
Good at writing bash scripts.
PostgreSQL / MySQL / noSQL
Command Line Expert.
5+ Years of experience developing MVC web apps.
Created an App used by at least 1 million users.
The hiring process:
A interview in which you will demonstrate competency via a few tests. Demo an application you've built and some of the challenges you had to overcome. Then your hired for 30 days! After this period is over, your code quality will be reviewed. If your kept, you will be given a raise, and be officially part of the team!
Did, I mention attention to detail is required? If you read this far you now know to add a joke in your cover letter. Those that exclude one, will most likely not be considered.
