This is a great project for people that want to build reputation on oDesk. We have employed lots of freelancers over the last few years and have given nearly everyone excellent feedback.
In this project, you will be creating templates for us from a package of wireframe layouts that we will send to you.
The easiest way to understand this project is to imagine that you’re creating an online magazine visual “theme” surrounding Lorum Ipsum-type content blocks. You are creating a template that others can modify as they fill in content blocks. (Like a web design template, but for print or online magazines.) We will send you wireframes as .pdfs or .ai files, and you will return .pdfs, .ind files and/or Microsoft Publisher files that follow the theme that you’re assigned. You will be responsible for supplying several open-source photographic images to complete your theme.
One theme, for instance, might be “American wedding.” We will provide some specific websites and images that we like for each theme. Your job is to translate those examples into a graphically satisfying visual theme for an “American wedding” online magazine.
Once you have concluded your research, you will complete four pages/spreads and send them to us for approval. You must submit your first four pages/spreads to us by midnight GMT on December 2, 2012. You will have feedback on your designs within 24 hours, after which time you will complete the other wireframes inside the “package” that will look and feel about like an online magazine. There will be as many as 16 pages/spreads inside each wireframe.
There are many themes to be created, and we will have many freelancers working on the project. Specific productivity and output guidelines will be provided with the wireframes. The best freelancers will be invited back for more projects.
The final template packages must be back to us by midnight GMT on December 5, 2012. We will be providing wireframes to hired/accepted freelancers no later than 11/29/12. We are making hiring decisions immediately.
