I am seeking an individual who has a passion for the environment. We are California Greenworks, Inc. a non-profit environmental outreach and education organization. Our mission is to improve the quality of urban life through programs and project which are educational and raise an environmental awareness.
We publish a quarterly newsletter called "The Urban Environmentalist". We are seeking someone who can keep the newsletter timely, on point, and interesting to our base. You will be involved with interviewing high level executives and researching on variety environmental justices topics and issues. You may be requested to provide one article to several articles per submission. The newsletter has a urban focus, but with a local and national flavor. In most cases, issue on a national or statewide level impact urban communities on a regional level as well. We want to bring those issues to light.
Also, I am required to make presentations to local chambers of commerce, universities and non-profit fundraiser events. I need an exquisite and elegant writer who can capture the imaginations of my audience with word. Create the visualization of my presentation for environmental justice and social equality. I want to develop two presentations. One on"the New Urbanism" focus on the movement to the urban landscape from the suburbs. Incorporating urban planning critical issues of scarcity of resources i.e. land, water, energy. There should be some reference to economic drivers and policy. Housing and design. conservation vs functionality.
The other would be able "The New Environmental Movement.- A new Wine for a New Time." Focused on environmental justice and a call to action. All presentation come with powerpoint slides, video, and references handouts. Length of presentation is 30-45min.
