Hi,

I need an external sort & merge for numerical data completed which also eliminates duplicates. I have an example which I am attaching that contains the external sort. There are a number of issues with this project:

-- The external sort was originally designed to sort strings and needs additions to work with binary source files to sort large numbers (long values).

-- The output file of sorted data takes on a binary format. There is a class that manages the reading and writing to the binary file for sorting but no support, at present, for source data in binary format vs. text file format.

-- Also needed would be a sample wherein an array is iterated, the individual numbers output to a binary file and then the external sort called upon with the binary output file for the array as a source.

If you choose to work on this project, it would be expected that you would have availability to respond to messages and fix bugs throughout the course of the day.

Submitted source code will need to be clean and well commented. No shortcuts as it does need to meet basic industry standards, etc.

This should only take a short time to correct. Even if overseas, no more than a day or two.

Thanks
