I have a web server with 100 small websites on it. My TMP drive is maxed out and it's causing sites to not load, plus it's not allowing CPanel / WHM to upgrade to the latest version.

Cpanel won't upgrade because it's at 0,9gb and it needs 1.6gb. I've got a ton of space so I was thinking of making tmp into 5gb. Here's my config:

Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda5             7.8G  7.2G  178M  98% /
/dev/sda8             198G   30G  159G  16% /home
/dev/sda6             996M   42M  903M   5% /tmp
/dev/sda3             7.8G  6.3G  1.1G  86% /usr
/dev/sda2             9.7G  2.7G  6.5G  30% /var
/dev/sda1             122M   22M   95M  19% /boot
tmpfs                 2.0G     0  2.0G   0% /dev/shm
/dev/sdb2             230G   96G  123G  44% /backup

I have CentOS, cpanel/whm

I'm assuming you can just do it with a sym link and the whole job should take less than an hour. Please give me a very high level of how you would tackle this problem in a way that won't risk my sites and data.

I found this tutorial but the file locations etc. don't look right:
http://antg.org/howto/2010/04/10/37/increase-the-size-of-tmp-usrtmpdsk-partition-in-linux.html

I think there's a way to do it with Bind too but I'm really not a Linux guy.
