We're looking for a new highly experienced Ruby on Rails developer to take over as primary developer for one of our major clients (www.ShareYourWish.com). Please visit the site to fully understand the scope of work involved. This is a fast-growing startup, a top-notch project for you to evolve your coding skills and build out your portfolio.
We are willing to pay more for exceptional developers with a broad background. We take very good care of our contractors and will treat you with professionalism and respect. We expect the same from you.
You should have a minimum of 3+ years experience with Ruby/Rails and excellent coding practices overall. You should be detail oriented, highly responsible, efficient, and continuously improving your knowledge and skills. (We really prefer someone with 6+ years coding experience in any language, but if you're very talented then apply even if you don't.)
This will start as a part-time job about 10-20 hours per week. In February or March we will consider you for full 40 hours per week, if you want the position and are available, otherwise we will add more contractors to the team.
Do not apply unless you are prepared to support this site on a long term basis, whether part time or full time. We understand it takes some time to learn the particulars of a new project - we will be patient if you will be committed.
All work is managed through OnTime and GitHub. Tickets and instructions are very well written. Defects are always tested and provided with repro steps so you can get right down to the problem. New feature requests are written with detailed user stories. We mostly follow an Agile methodology.
* Must have very strong jQuery and CSS for excellent front-end UI/UX.
* Design experience not important - we provide layouts, wireframes, graphic elements, etc.
* We require full test coverage: every feature should have a complete test specification.
* Coffee, HAML, other time-saving frameworks are good to know
