This project is a for a custom injection molded battery housing assembly. The battery assembly physical appearance resembles in many ways typical industrial deep cycle lead acid batteries but will contain complex internals for mounting of various non-standard components.
This product is planned for high volume production.
Extensive knowledge of injection molding techniques, processes and mechanical design engineering is required. Extensive experience understanding shock, drop and vibration specifications and incorporating those into the design optimization via FEA analysis is required.
Ability to understand basic electrical components such a fuses, PCBA, and bus-bars for incorporation into mechanical designs is required.
Project deliverables are final designs that have been optimized via FEA as well as consultation for tooling makers to ensure manufacturability. These designs will be rapid prototyped for design verification. A final report on the FEA analysis is also required.
Solidworks is the required platform for the above.
We estimate total project to be 400 hours +. Speed on this project is of the essence -- you must be able to work immediately on this project at minimum 30 hours per week or more.
You also must have very good industrial design capability for the looks of the product.
