PLEASE READ THIS JOB AD CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING!!
I am looking for at least 2 people that can type overflow work for me Monday-Friday, the earliest time ready to work varying anywhere between 9AM to whenever the job gets done. The audios will vary in length and while most of the audios are good in quality, there may be an audio that you may have to listen to with extra care and that would take a little more time to type but nothing ridiculous.
The pay is $0.30 cents a minute for 24-hour jobs and for asap jobs $0.40 cents a minute (NON-NEGOTIABLE). The more you claim jobs and are available to work, the more you can earn; however I do expect 98% accuracy. If the first and second documents are typed poorly, your pay gets deducted. The third document you turn in that is done poorly results in no pay and termination of your contract. The "stacks" won't be counted against you if you don't send in a badly typed document within two months of sending the first one or the second one.
For example, you send in a badly typed document to me in May. If you send in another one that's done poorly but it's now July, then it counts as your first "X."
You must be a U.S. citizen (NO EXCEPTIONS)
Typing speed of at least 65/70 wpm (You can take this typing test for free-- http://www.typingtest.com/)
High Speed Internet (CABLE/BROADBAND)
Odesk test results related to transcription (good English'/grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary and MS Word results)
Have Microsoft Word
Have file transfer application (YouSendIt, Dropbox)
Good noise canceling headphones
You must also have a Google or Yahoo email account for communicating. I will be needing to know what your hours of availability are each day. The hours you commit to are just that. Any incomplete work you turn in you won't get paid for. Don't waste my time or yours if you can't commit to the work you take each day. You have to have the time to take the work you say you're going to do once you claim it.
Experience in transcription is helpful but I am more concerned about your ability to follow directions for this job. You can have so many years in transcription and be horrible at what you do or you can be new to transcription and be really good. The proof will be in your work.
You will be given templates and formatting instructions for the job and I expect everything the way it needs to be. That also includes doing your own proofing and editing.
If you are interested in the job, you can email me here. Once again please send typing speed results and if possible some samples of some typing you've done.
You will be given an audio test and if you meet ALL requirements and show good typing speed and testing results, I can put you to work right away. People that are serious about working this job should only apply.
