Our site calculates and displays results for athletic events.  The results are displayed using a sql query.

A example of those results is here (select a dropdown):

http://throwdownseries.com/testing/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=150

For this example I will use "Demo Winter Throwdown"... notice here: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0b0tv3ie6

Events have segments with weightings.  In Demo Winter Throwdown, you will notice that the weightings for the 4 segments are 20%, 20%, 40%, 20%.

The sql query uses that data and the individual's row (place) to then calculate the overall rank (column 1).  So for example Rank (column 1) is calculated as:

Bingo Bango (1*20% + 1*20% + 2*40% + 1*20) = 1.40
Super Athlete (3*20% + 2*20% + 4*40% + 2*20) = 3.00

We need to DISPLAY this rank in POINTS by taking that weighted average and dividing by the minimum percent available in any given event (20% is the MIN of 20, 20, 40, 20).

Bingo Bango's points = 7 pts. (1.40 / 20%)
Super Athlete's points = 15 (3.00 / 20%)

Again see first column here: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0b0tv3ie6

Thank you for your interest.
