Lean Team Implementation
Please develop a plan to implement lean teams in an organization. This may be a hypothetical organization or may be one with which you are familiar. “ but fake name “
Review the reading and look into the AB/I, Science Direct/Elsevier, and Emerald databases. In addition to assigned reading, at a minimum, you should read ImplementationHancock, Hancocktext (same article but text only) and TeamsKatzenbach from the online course pack. Also read LeanNegative from the coursepack or find at least one other article which concludes that lean initiatives may not be successful. . A minimum of six sources should be used as references;.
Teams may be a “natural” work team: individuals who work together on a day-to-day basis; “kaizen” teams organized temporarily to address a specific, chronic problem; cross-functional teams working on, for example, new product introduction; and management or engineering teams.
Your plan should address (at minimum) these issues:
1. Why a team fits here.
2. How leadership will be determined.
3. How the team members are selected.
4. How should the team be monitored?
5. What are the intrinsic and extrinsic reward systems?
6. How is individual and group accountability handled?
7. What to do if things go wrong?
8. What role does being an effective team member have in individual performance reviews?
9. What are the organization’s alternatives if teams are not used?
The report should answer the questions with supporting documentation from references and/or your own experience. This is due at (December 8th) USA Eastern Standard time. I am looking for plausibility, not great detail. The final product should be 7-10 pages. The conclusion should be suitable for an executive summary. I pay attention to the following:
