We have ongoing needs for Android development, particularly the ability to work with wearables (like a smartwatch), sensors, GPS and location.
Current project has only three weeks to complete. Do not apply if you cannot contribute the majority of your time through the first three weeks of September.
You will be interfacing with an existing, popular outdoor Android GPS app that will send you the following bits of information:
Statistics of GPS session - ie distance travelled and more.
Image file to display as map image.
Bearing to a target location for display on compass.
Should have skills for the following:
Creating custom views (override View class and implement onDraw).
Using sensors - rotation sensor, or combination mag/accel
Create layouts that follow Android Wear design guidelines - may refer to samples as needed.
Exchange data using DataLayer APIs.
Will include several screens:
Nearby Waypoints Screen
Waypoints Info Screen.
Looking for someone who is talented in using Android Studio,
Also want someone talented in sharing the Android Studio code through Source control such as SVN. This means you know what files to checkin to source control, and what files to not checkin, so that I can build it on my machine with Android Studio as well.
