We would like to build a prototype of an electronic device similar to the "thingCharger" - www.thingCharger.com. However, it is not a charger or an electrical outlet device but dimensions wise is going to be pretty similar or just little larger. The device will be plugged into an outlet though just like thingCharger. Please visit www.thingCharger.com to look at the design and concept. Our device will be a 2 part design:
Part 1: The bottom device which will be plugged into an outlet and will have an inside USB port which deliver's a low voltage to the device which will be placed inside. Do not worry about the design of the actual electrical circuitry. The manufacturer of the device will incorporate that into this device. However, you should leave a provision in your design where the manufacturer can place the electrical circuitry which converts the 110/220 volts to a low voltage USB port, just like a phone charger. Basically it will be a stepdown transformer. The bottom part will also have a provision of a bottom and top holes for the screws so that it can be secured to the electrical outlet before screwing the top part on it.
Par 2: The top part “a rectangular 3D hollow case” at least 2 inches deep which will be screwed on to the bottom part. There should be 4 different screws, 2 will go on the left side of the case and 2 will be on the right side of the case.
We would like to see 3D models with top, side, bottom, inside views on both the parts along with all the views on the assembled device model.
