I am working on an start-up website (www.collegenode.com) that connects international students from China, South Korea, and Mexico with American college students. I am looking for someone to recruit a few college students to help us beta test the site.
So here's the idea of the website: current colleges students in America to sign up to talk to international prospective students. The site uses a video software similar to skype. The American students can charge a fee for their time (anywhere between $5 to $100 for a 25 minute session), and they can answer questions that are typical to international students, such as "tell me how are the dorms" and "what are the food in the cafeteria."
I want to recruit some current students or recent alumni to sign up to become student ambassadors. I have a bunch of eager Chinese high school students who want to talk and learn more about life in American colleges. I am looking to build a diverse group of students from a wide variety of colleges.
I graduated more than a decade ago and I don't know many current students anymore. I am looking for someone who is a current student or a recent graduate, who who can sign up all of their friends to the site. Their friends can make some good money for themselves by telling the Chinese students about their experience. (they need to have an email address that ends in .edu)
So here's the bit more difficult part: ideally I am looking for students from different colleges: it's not as useful to me to have 20 students who to go Ohio States, than to have two students from 10 different universities. So if you have friends spread across different universities that'd be ideal (ideally from one of the top 100 universities by US News ranking, since those are the schools where most international students are headed to).
For compensation I can pay you $5 for each friends you recruit, capped at $200. The friend you recruit need to build a complete profile and be professional, I don't want someone to establish a profile but doesn't respond to any student's messages (or worse, cheat their money). We are only in the beta testing stage, so things are fairly fluid. If you do a good job, I am willing to retain you for more beta-recruiting work.
If you want to bid on this job, tell me a little more about yourself and why you can do a good job, and we'll go from there.
