I'm in the process of looking/screening illustrators for two children's book projects I'm working on. The style I'm going for is not super digitally or computerized and a style that almost looks like a painting/drawing with brush strokes, even if done digitally. I am not looking for that super computer animated (pixar-like) characters.
The book is intended to be a cutesy book about flatulance and manners.
Ideally illustrators will be screened based on the first picture description and the one who's style/vision which best fits will be chosen to illustrate the entire book. The picture I would like drawn is one with a little girl (around age 4-6) with brown hair, brown eyes, who is sitting around a little table having tea with her stuffed animals in her super girly room. She should appear embarressed because she tooted and her mom is there telling her to not be ashamed and the manners of being a lady, maybe pointing at her (you may be able to somehow only show the mom's back-but up to you). I would like it to be very cutesy, but a bit funny too.
I hope this is enough (and not too much) direction.
The entire book will have 12-14 illustrations. (2-3 will be double paged.)
In your response please quote the one illustration as well as the cost to do the entire book. More information will be provided to those whose portfolios match my vision/needs.
ps The file specs are high quality scans, 300dpi or higher, TIFF or EPS (no jpeg, jpg etc.)
