Our website is using up a lot of memory. We have a cloud VPS server http://www.crucial.com.au/cloud/vps with 3 cpus and 4gb ram and it's using up all the ram.
We recently migrated our website to a new server because their servers crashed for 72 hours. They kept telling us they would have it up soon, so we were waiting, but we eventually moved. The previous server had 2 cpus and 2gb ram, and the server didn't go down very often. So maybe something has gone wrong during the migration process, or the server isn't configured properly.
There are a lot of strange issues coming up like event posts not deleting and random things like that, so something isn't right.
Here's a snapshot of the stats from running a top command in shell:
Cpu(s): 6.3%us, 0.7%sy, 0.0%ni, 92.8%id, 0.2%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 3974560k total, 3895460k used, 79100k free, 203404k buffers
Swap: 0k total, 0k used, 0k free, 2338144k cached
Currently there are only 35 visitors on the site, and it gets up to a few hundred concurrent connections, so 35 should not be causing this sort of problem.
Also note that we started off on this server with 2gb ram, and it was using most of it up, occasionally crashing the site. So we upgraded to 4gb and the memory usage just increased to take up most of it.
Really need help urgently as we've already had 72 hours of straight downtime. plus lots of temporary downtime since we moved servers.
