We need a plugin or similar that is a cookie-based unique visitor counting system which works the same as Google Analytics for our blog.
Presently, our blog counts all visits from every computer including search engine crawlers and spambots, and even counts screen refreshes. We only want to track unique visitors to our blog, but it must also be able to count a visit for each page a unique visitor accesses, e.g.:
• If visitor A views 3 posts/pages in one day, it must count only 3.
• If visitor B visits only 1 post/page, then comes back later and visits the same post/page on the same day, it only counts 1, so the total would be 4.
• If visitor B visits the next day, the total becomes 5.
The counter must show the number of daily visits (resetting to 0 at the end of each day), and also the number of total visits overall, with the ability for us to reset this/change the starting date as well.
We need each day to be recorded in the database on a separate line so that we can look at each day’s separate visitor count in the sql table, otherwise, the current day’s count should show up on the blog page.
