Exceptional Writer, Editor, and Proofreader
Let a highly skilled yet down-to-earth professional help make your writing the absolute best version of itself.
My passion for words, meticulous nature, and razor-sharp editing eye will take your writing to the next level—whether that means whipping a very rough piece into shape with in-depth line editing or polishing an already excellent piece to its finest shine through thorough proofreading. I’ve helped first time self-published authors put their best feet forward and more experienced writers both maintain and improve their quality of work. I can take your non-fiction guide and organize it so that it flows as smoothly as melted butter or catch even the smallest storyline inconsistencies in your romance novel. I can ensure your very important email to a client is correct and sounds both professional and appealing or beta read your horror novella and provide an incisive, detailed, multi-page critique. I also offer writing services on a limited basis, but my true passion lies in helping others bring out the best in their written work.
I enjoy working closely with my clients to ensure we’re on the same page and that they get exactly the service they are looking for. I also only work on 1-2 projects at a time, allowing me to give each project the focused attention it deserves.
My fees are commensurate with the quality of work I produce and industry standards, and I require escrow to be funded before I begin work on a fixed price project.
For your convenience, I've provided a list of the services I offer and their definitions below.
This in-depth type of editing focuses on maximizing style and effectiveness. Line editing improves flow, organization, clarity, and sentence structure; eliminates redundancies, improper verbiage, and superfluous words and phrases; and maintains consistent voice, tone, and tense.
Equally as important as line editing and usually performed afterward, copy editing focuses on correcting errors (concerning grammar, punctuation, and spelling), style adherence (such as Chicago or MLA), and consistency (in spellings, usage, and typography).
The last line of defense against any remaining minor mistakes (spelling, typos, spacing, page numbers, etc.), proofreading should be the final step before sending any piece of writing off to its ultimate destination, whether that be a potential employer’s HR department or Amazon’s Kindle store.
Though beta reading is often a task provided for free by friends, family, and peers, sometimes an objective and experienced professional is worth paying for. This service comes with an extremely honest, yet tactful, detailed report concerning what works best in the piece, what does not work well, what serious issues need to be addressed, and which type of professional(s) could benefit you most.
I have experience writing academic pieces, fiction, non-fiction, and web content. My chameleon-like abilities allow me to create polished and virtually flawless pieces in any tone for any audience.
