Web Developer - building amazing websites (WordPress/SquareSpace/etc.)

    United States - Last active: 20 days ago - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 1

Hi, there! I have over 15 years of software development experience, creating custom software solutions for leading-edge startups all the way up to big companies like Oracle and Microsoft. For the past 5 years I've helped hundreds of entrepreneurs with starting their own businesses. Including at Harvard University, where I lead their technical startup programming at Harvard Innovation Lab. I love building amazing websites, so I'm currently taking on a small number of short term projects helping entrepreneurs and small organizations create websites that will make their business shine. As a leader in agile software development, you can rest assured that I'll work with you to create the leanest possible solution that will meet your needs and delight you and your customers. As such, while I have experience with a number of programming frameworks and technologies, I find that using a platform like WordPress or SquareSpace is a great, cost effective way to create a beautiful website that promotes your business. And so that's what I'm focusing on right now, although I am open to other platforms so let me know what you're thinking and let's figure out the best technology for your needs.

.Net/c#/SQL Web Developer - AWS EC2 Cloud - Wordpress Expert

    United States - Last active: 02/28/2014 - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 2

I am looking to bring my 10+ years experience as a developer in both client side (Javascript/jQuery/PrototypeJs) and server side (.Net/c#/Microsoft SQL/MySql) work to the table for clients who need an expert here in the US. I have experience as a developer who "just codes" for you as well as experience playing a liaison role between the business and technical worlds. I am especially good at talking code with other developers one moment, and translating that into something meaningful to a non-technical executive the next. I have started companies that have been successful in the academic space; built, licensed and integrated software to public companies in the flower space; and provided clients web based solutions for over 10 years. I love working on a range of projects: from an HTML5 "Sales Enablement" app for a Fortune 500 company to implementing an autoscaling server array in Amazon's cloud using Microsoft servers for a smaller startup. I am passionate about technology and developing solutions to problems.

Wordpress Customization, Graphic Design, Prepress and Print Production

    United States - Last active: 06/10/2014 - Tests: 1 - Portfolio: 3

My purpose and passion in 40 words or less? Create and have business relationships based upon honesty, integrity and clarity. Deliver first class products with topnotch customer service. Create a unique customer experience based on trust and understanding and go the extra mile to get the job well done. Why do I do it? It’s in my blood. My step dad was a general manager of a big printing company in Amsterdam. As a kid I loved going into the city of Amsterdam to see him at work. I loved the smell of the printing press room and the look of the big German printing presses. In my teens I decided to work for his company during the school vacations. Not long after that I decided to change “careers”. I changed schools and became an apprentice at my step dads printing company. After graduating from the Amsterdam School of Graphic Technology, I continued my career and came up through the ranks of various printing companies in the Netherlands. In 1998 I moved to San Diego, California and became a prepress manager at a medium sized printing company. During this time period I changed jobs and started working for a big prepress software company from Canada. This job, which I loved, took me all over the USA visiting many different printing companies installing prepress systems used in printing companies. It was a great way to get exposed to different aspects of the graphic industry. Which way is up? To make a long story short. I ended up working for another prepress software company but the recession took the wind out of its sails. They had to let go of people and I was one of them. It became time to asses my situation. I have a ton of experience in the graphic industry. Adobe Creative Suite is no mystery to me. Building websites was also something I had done before for friends and clients on the side. So 1 + 1 = 2 and here we go. Combining best of both worlds. My business philosophy? My life is spend most of the time working. That is why I am picky who I work for or with. Money is important but not everything. What means the most to me is going to bed at night looking back at the day knowing that I gave everything I had and that what I gave was recognized and/or appreciated, by myself and others.

  9. Brian Senesac

    Brian Senesac

Multi Media Graphic Designer. Responsive Website Developer. Wordpress.

    United States - Last active: 06/16/2014 - Tests: 1 - Portfolio: 7

The primary technologies I use are PHP and MySQL, but programming is more about understanding the logic of process than the specific language you create it with. I utilize and advocate web standards like CSS and XHTML as much as possible because I believe that they are dramatically changing the Internet. In addition these platforms help to lower the cost to clients. Open source programs such as WordPress and Drupal are also one of my strong points, and make bringing a website to even the smallest of companies a possibility. This of course only scratches the surface of my skill set, and only begins to talk about my enjoyment for the world wide web.
