    Expert Web Programer and Designer

    Canada - Last active: 03/01/2014 - Tests: 4

JavaScript, Hypertext Markup, Cascading Styles, Scalar Vector Graphics, WebSockets & WinSock32, 2D Canvas, 3D WebGL & OpenGL, C/C++ created my own programming text editor that works right from my website ( saving time on the uploading and refreshing process that is required for testing new code in its hosted environment. After a year or two using the Apache home server, I developed my own web server using C/C++ and the Assembler language so that I could host websites myself using my own frontend and backend solutions. I call my server the Kenxsys and it has its own custom database that has ultra fast access to anything I cache from simple variables to full length files. I have also developed a Kenxadecimal browser slide/server side communication model that allows me to send and receive binary machine codes to and from each side. Since Google Chrome came out and with the introduction of HTML5, and the much greater consensus on JavaScript implementations across the major browsers, I have been focused on the new web technologies that have arose because of it. Some of which I really love, like the hardware accelerated 3D graphics called WebGL which is based off of OpenGL that I was very comfortable with from before. And now it allows video game quality graphics to be rendered within web pages themselves instead of downloadable executable. Another new web technology is WebSockets and I recently added WebSocket support to my Kenxsys web server, and am starting to use it with some of my web site projects. CSS has also evolved into a very powerful subset language of its own, especially with the additions of simple key frame animations and even 3D CSS. I am an independent programmer that has never met many other experienced programmers. I love teaching and would love working with others as a team on any type of programming project. Keeping my skills sharp I do some projects using straight up native JavaScript and straight up HTML/CSS. Then I do the same projects using my own languages that convert it to HTML/CSS/JavaScript behind the scenes. Recently I have learned about printer friendly CSS, what to use and what to avoid for each browser. I have also learned about some native JavaScript tricks that reduce typing that I have never seen demonstrated by anyone else. I will give some examples of that: 1) To get a reference to a document element, programmers normally type out document.getElementById('SomeId') to get it, but all you have to do is type self.SomeId and it will work just the same. 2) There is a way of avoiding having to use if statements but they switch up clutter for cryptic symbols, for example: ToggleValue = (ToggleValue === true) ? false : true I use inline JSON to do the same, for example: ToggleValue = {true:false, false:true}[ToggleValue] This same technique can be extended to even replace switch statements, for example: var DayString = {0:'Monday',1:'Tuesday',2:'Wednesday',3:'Thursday',4:'Friday',5:'Saturday',6:'Sunday'}[new Date().getDay()] Even simpler yet, we can use an array instead of JSON and achieve the same result, for example: var DayString = ['Monday','Tuesday','Wednesday','Thursday','Friday','Saturday','Sunday'][new Date().getDay()] I could go on with all the neat things I have discovered but feel I have said plenty enough to sell myself as one with a huge history of great enthusiasm in programming, and one that lives and dreams in code. No one can claim to know it all, but with the help of Internet search, almost anything is possible. All that anyone really needs is a good foundation of the programming concepts and lots of hands on practical experience. I have been programming full time since 1996
