Professional Writer and Editor, degree in English and Creative Writing

    United States - Tests: 5 - Portfolio: 2

I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Art in English and Creative Writing. In the years since graduating from college I have held positions as an Editor in Chief, Administrative Assistant, Chief Blogger, and various other positions wich involved a great deal of professional writing. I believe my writing ability is what sets me apart from other freelancers on the site. I am also adept at administrative tasks such as data entry, creating schedules, communicating with clients, and other organizational duties. Some of my skills include typing a clean 90 WPM, basic HTML knowledge, a strong proficiency in all Word software, professional editing, writing, administrative tasks, and having 11 years of professional experience in these fields. As you can also see from my tests I placed 1st out of 400k+ test takers on the US Spelling Test. Aside from the professional description above I am absolutely in love with writing and words. I've always been told I have a knack for writing the perfect description that people never knew they wanted. Since I was young I devoured books like The Hobbit and a lot of children's books. I decided after college I wanted to devote myself to actually doing what I went to college for. And living in a small town doesn't lend well for writing outside of your home. So I decided the best step to take was to become a freelancer and help people all over the world with their writing needs. I've written everything from stories about video games to a memorial for a loved one. I hope by reading this you can see just how much I love to write. If you're looking for someone who is truly passionate about reading, writing, and language in general, I hope you contact me and let me assist you with the perfect phrase. - Ashley

I have been freelancing in video production for the past 6 years and on oDesk for 2. United States - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 1

I'm a gifted storyteller, dedicated to helping clients tell theirs. I say this unabashedly and with complete confidence. The proof, of course, is the words. Today, finding the right words is more important than ever, and I strive to under-promise but over-deliver. The name of my company says it all: words-are-my-biz And my philosophy is simple: The right words sell. The wrong words leave sales on the table. WHO AM I? I’m a professional writer living in Portland, Oregon with a lifelong passion for the power of the written word. I’ve written everything from novels to blogs, sales collateral to web content, ad copy to letters, business proposals to sales plans and training manuals. Not to mention a few thousand papers getting my four kids through high school and college. I love what I do. WHAT IS MY BACKGROUND? I bring more than thirty years of sales and marketing business management experience to every project, and by this I’m talking about major corporations to mid-size companies and start-ups, working in fields including software, real estate, law, publishing, advertising and services. I confess to having a particular fondness for high degree-of-difficulty challenges. JUST HOW DO I DO WHAT I DO? By asking questions, listening and considering what I hear, followed by collaborative brainstorming to develop a plan we both embrace with confidence and enthusiasm. As you seek synergy within your organization, I seek it with my clients. It pays huge dividends. The common thread is in finding the way to communicate more effectively, internally and externally, with staff, customers and prospects. The common challenge is in identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and unique competitive factors confronting each client. HOW CAN YOU LEARN MORE ABOUT ME? Visit my website, home to my novels, blog and publishing company, Old Dog Publishing.
