Today I'm offering webscraping/php/javascript services as a freelancer. My main skills: • Web scraping, parsing, automation, data processing • Simplehtmldom, Goutte, Symfony Browser Kit, Cheerio, CasperJS, Regular Expressions, Xpath • PHP, JavaScript, Java, NodeJS, PhantomJS, LUA • HTML5, CSS3, LESS, Bootstrap Framework • MySQL, MongoDB, Redis • Memcached, ZeroMQ, ReactPHP • SocketIO, Websockets • REST, SOAP, XML, JSON • Matlab, Wolfram Mathematica • Jquery, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, RequireJS • Prestashop, OpenCart • Experience working with APIs: Ebay, Spotify, Amazon AWS, Amazon MWS, Flickr, Facebook Graph, Vk.com, GitHub, Instagram and several others • Git, SVN • Apache, Nginx, Curl • Amazon AWS • Linux, Vagrant • Understanding of OOP principles and software design patterns • Teamwork experience My github account is https://github.com/256cats My blog: http://256cats.com/ Over the years I’ve developed a lot of web scrapers of different complexity mostly using PHP (simplehtmldom, browserkit) and NodeJS/PhantomJS (casperjs). Some were simple regex-based and others were complex distributed systems with multiple proxies and Amazon AWS support. Also I developed a wide range of websites using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL including several e-commerce websites (+ Prestashop, Opencart). I built sites both from scratch and using frameworks, developed custom modules and extended existing ones for my clients. I have experience in PHP/MySQL performance tuning. Last two years I was working as MMO game (Clash of Clans/Heroes of Might and Magic-like mechanics) logic/backend developer. I’ve implemented distributed message queues, realtime leaderboards with Redis, Mysql, PHP. Developed battle-related algorithms (game unit classes, attack/defend, shortest path, quadtree). Then I’ve done some frontend development, e.g. – developed embeddable javascript classifieds widget and fitness/health single page web application with realtime updates/notifications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Jquery, Knockout.js, MomentJS, REST, AJAX, Socket.io).

    Senior Developer, PM

    Russia - Last active: 6 days ago - Tests: 5 - Portfolio: 1

I have strong background in UNIX/Linux software development, Master's Degree in Computer Science. I worked on Enterprise high-load distributed hosting automation systems as a Team Leader (3.5 years in SWsoft, Inc., now called Parallels). For the last 6 years I'm running my own small software development business in Russia with primary focus on Python/Django apps. Not pure Web but often involving integration with hardware (Proximity Cards, Sensor Screens) or external systems like Payment Processing, SMS Gateways, GABRIEL (Airline Reservation System), etc. I can take an idea and turn it into a working business, through all the intermediate stages. Also I have experience of investing my own funds in my projects, so I feel the difference between "perfect code" in a month and "good enough" code that increases the revenue right now. Nevertheless, my code is very good: no copy-paste, always written with performance, flexibility and security in mind, etc. On oDesk I'm looking for (and actually find :) interesting projects with a sight on long-term fruitful cooperation. I'm also open to smaller activities (e.g., consulting) where my knowledge can be helpful.

I am also a word class back end programmer familiar with MySQL, Bash, PHP, Perl, and Python. Please, no front end design work, I don't have an eye for creativity (unless it's something simple of course). I look forward to working with you and any projects you may have for me.
