Data Scientist & Java Developer
I am well-versed in Software development, with knowledge and experience in Java. I have programmed various applications, and I am capable in Object Oriented Programming. I also have SQL and Database Design knowledge, having created databases in the past.
Since July 2014 I have also been studying Data Science through Coursera, edX and other platforms, and I can use R to manipulate datasets, derive conclusions and prepare machine learning algorithms. I can use various preparation (data cleaning, data selection, charts, etc), pre-processing (centering, scaling, PCA, Imputation, etc) and modeling (Inference tests, Regression, ANOVA, Classification, Random Forests, Boosting, Bootstrapping, etc) methodologies. I also know Excel (data manipulation, charts, Pivot tables, Lookup, Optimization) and VBA. Currently I am learning Android.
I have a wide range of knowledge in many fields (although I am not specialized in any of them), which allows me to utilize data more effectively than someone who has no idea how the data are related and simply tries to combine them randomly. My interests include (but are not limited to) Astronomy, Meteorology, First Aid/Medicine, Information Technology, Economics, Psychology, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Graphics.
Finally, I can work both in teams of any size, as well as alone, and carry out my tasks responsibly and in time. I am used to handling deadlines, and I have worked with many teams in various settings (corporate, army, university, etc).
