As the Directly of IT at Rotary International in Chicago, reported to the CIO and led a 100-person strong global IT & PM organization to achieve strategic and operational goals. Worked with the CIO to develop a strategic plan for IT which aligned with the Organizational Strategic plan. Furthermore developed a road map to accomplish this strategic plan.
Aligned strategic and operational goals to departmental and project team goals, measured progress towards these goals with a clear focus on working effectively in teams and an established cadence of visual, continuous improvement.
Led the agile transformation of the organization which resulted in the implementation of some of the largest Enterprise projects ever, by scope and number with a clear focus on business process re-engineering, global organizational change management, measurable critical success factors and benefits realization. These projects resulted in tangible benefits such as increased customer engagement, reduced cycle time, increased productivity and compliance.
Led the PMO – Managed a team of 9 Project Managers and led the transformation of the project methodology from Waterfall to an Agile methodology; facilitated Project portfolio Steering Committee meetings including Portfolio planning; established a data based project portfolio dashboard; promoted the concept of product ownership and a process to measure project benefits realization; responsible for the creation of and management of project portfolio budget.
Established a Business Intelligence team to aid in data-based decision making for the business.
Remodeled the Enterprise Application support group to follow an Agile approach which brought about predictability, improved quality and measurability to support, thereby increasing throughput and reducing wait times from 3 months to a couple of weeks.
Further strengthened the integration between the Head Quarters in Chicago and the back office in India in order for the offshore development and support model to be successful.
