Too often, online marketers get caught up in chasing the next fad. But doing more business online is, at the heart of it, very similar to doing more business offline. Relationships are what's important, and hacks and tricks only go so far.
I'm not your ordinary freelancer. I sometimes describe myself as "a writer who's not afraid of numbers." My drive to understand the written word and the world of business has given me an unusual collection of experiences and skills:
-I'm an experienced copywriter who has created sales letters and other marketing materials for businesses several industries.
-I'm a Google Partner, with certification in AdWords, Bing, and Google Analytics. I've successfully managed PPC programs with monthly spend ranging from under $1,000 to close to $45,000. I've also designed and run website split testing programs for clients.
-In the past, I worked in publishing as a writer and editor for about 10 years, giving me a solid grounding in proper editorial procedures and standards, what materials sell, and the financial considerations involved in publishing a book. I've found that a lot of the business skills I've learned in this world are highly transferable to other industries.
-I've been managing my own web-based businesses on the side since 2003.
To any project, I bring a drive for thoroughness, patience, good judgment, and a deep investment in seeing my clients meet and exceed their goals. Your success is my success. I constantly test and look for data to support decisions. For my clients' ultimate benefit, I constantly seek out new learning opportunities (conferences, webinars, workshops, etc...). Finally, I'm highly dependable: I'm very selective about the commitments I make to insure that when I do take on a project I not only meet my responsibilities but hopefully knock it out of the park.
I'm most interested in projects that allow me to work with a website's marketing needs in a holistic manner. Rather than push the particular solutions I can personally offer, such as AdWords or a content marketing campaign, I much prefer to analyze the needs of that particular business and come up with a plan that will address what's most needed, in the most effective way. If I don't think that a certain marketing technique will work well for you, I'll tell you so.
I also work best with clients who understand that good results take time. I audit the work of others frequently, and have seen the consequences of going for the quick win without attention to long-term profitability.

-Created an extensive remarketing program with the highest ROI in an individual campaign at over 800%. For this client I have also been successful at cutting spend (in the case of one campaign as much as 88%) while maintaining sales.
-Another client brought me on board to see if a display campaign set up by a previous consultant could be optimized further. When auditing the campaign I identified changes to the targeting that led to a 600% increase in leads.
-I improved the click-through-rate (CTR) of an assisted living facility by 1700%, while halving the cost per click and raising the average position.
-Through testing, I achieved ad-level CTRs as high as 12.28% (average 2.56%) for a WordPress developer. These results are for non-branded keywords.
