With my experience living, studying and working in Japan for 6 years (1996~2002) and exposure to Japanese culture, standard/polite Japanese conversation and local/dialect conversation is one of my passport/skill of being employed in a Japanese Manufacturing firm since going back home last 2002 since to date.
I started as Production Coordinator/Japanese Interpreter assigned for a local Manager. Then i was transferred under the office of the VP after 2 months with the same job description. I was again re-assigned to the office of the GM. He assigned me to different areas of the production not just for plant 1 alone but covering the 2 plants as well. I was doing that for more than a year. I was happy since i got to learns details on how a manufacturing company works. Year 2006 when my boss - the GM promoted me from being a Production Coordinator to become a Manager of Sales Department, still being a Japanese~English Interpreter/translator included in my job responsibilities.
Currently, i am handling 4 departments, with the same company i worked since 2004. Aside from the verbal skill i have, i have translated almost all work instructions, procedures, business plans, policies, technical documents in the company and also act as the local window of all e-mails, communications from our head office in Miyagi, Japan. There are also times, i will be send to our sister company located in Luzon, to act as Japanese Interpreter/translator for new project/Japanese client.
With the background i have, i want to utilize my time after my daily regular job to do translation job, data entry or any work offered within my capacity and time availability.
My goal of doing this is to have more financial freedom for my family and to help my extended families and the foundation i supported.
