Maria Linda Balanza
Writer. Artist. Designer. Hard-worker.
I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design student from the best university in the country - the University of the Philippines Diliman. I may have a passion for art and design, but I have a deep love for writing as well.
My style is clean and simple. Nothing I do lacks function. But every thing I do, will always have a cherry on top, because I am not attracted to functional things that are ugly, nor am I attracted to beautiful things that are useless. There needs to be a balance, and I will always try to find that balance.
I have come across many people of different races, different backgrounds and different beliefs, so I strive for universality. Get to know me; I will get to know you, no matter who you are, no matter where you come from. I will do my best to understand you and effectively communicate with you.
With all this, I believe in an ideal that was founded by Walter Gropius: bringing together all forms of art and joining it with technology. It makes sense to me in a way I can never fully explain. The classics are important to me; they give me a sense of what it feels like to be an artist. But the with the advent of technology, moulded INTO those art forms, gives me a sense of what it feels like to be a designer. The absence of ornamentation and the distillation of simplicity through balance, form and structure is the true essence of all that is contained within my fingertips.
I express all that I believe in, with every word, every gesture and every movement.
Best of all, I'm here for you.
