Nicholas left Radio Waumini in September 2011 to implement a capacity building program for South Sudanese radio journalists working in the 9 community radios of the Catholic Radio Network (CRN) in South Sudan. His assignment as Radio Technical Trainer in Central South Sudan started at Good News Radio of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek in October 2011. In November 2012 Nicholas moved to Torit Diocese’s Radio Emmanuel 89 FM in South Sudan's Eastern Equatoria State from where he provided in house training to member radio stations of the Catholic Radio Network, covering the following among other key areas; scripting for programs, News writing, news sourcing, audio recording techniques, digital audio processing, program production (packaging) and live programs presentation. The Capacity Building assignment in South Sudan concluded in June 2014.
