Highly experienced developer
Last active: 08/20/2014
I have been a freelance developed for several years now and have previously worked for large multinational corporations on varied and complex projects.
Networking I know; creating heterozygous and happy network families with Linux and Windows clients. I like Cisco equipment and I use lots of it.
I like my work to be perfect. I never understand why some developers don't seem to bother testing their code. All my work compiles or executes in strict standards mode without errors and warnings.
I like virtualisation and containerisation. Amazon Web Services is my playground. I speak native SQL and have experience with MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite and a lot more. I've memorised every configuration option in Apache and know how to squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of it. I use vi because it's a lot better than emacs. I'm a black-belt in data jujitsu, I can import, slice and dice, normalise, crunch and spit out any type of information given to me. I've contributed patches to all components of the LAMP stack and I know them all inside-out and backwards.
I have a passion for creating clear, concise, open and standards-compliant work that is liberal in its input and conservative in its output. I love compatibility. In my work, security is a critical design requirement not an after-thought. I also like to document things. A lot.
I'm happy to work on extended projects for you but I'm the guy you really need if you have a weird or complex issue that needs fixing quickly but nobody understands it or can't seem to fix it. My in-depth experience of every level of your solution stack will let me quickly get in there and pull it apart to discover and resolve what's wrong.
Also if you have what seems like an impossibly complex problem or need something highly custom achieving quickly, please do talk to me. I'm good at finding innovative ideas to unique challenges that will deliver quick and consistent results for you.
I look forward to hearing from you; thanks kindly for reading.
