Translator | EU Projects Manager | Social Anthropologist
A skilled, educated translator in the language pair English-Greek and proof reader in Greek, which is my native language, with 9 years of experience as a proof reader and a translator mainly for humanities, popular science, press releases and EU project products (submissions, manuals and project deliverables, reports, etc.). A permanent, in-house and external translator for National Geographic Greece for 7 years.
My professional career has been divided mainly between translation, proofreading and European Projects Management. As an EU Project Manager I have managed projects across the whole span of their life, including their conception, preparation, submission, implementation, reporting and evaluation.
Prior to my project management career I had successfully worked in administrative assistance and secretarial posts, gaining a 5-year experience in successfully running an office, meeting the directors' and clients' expectations, multitasking, and crisis management.
My main academic background and interests evolve around Social Anthropology. I hold and MSc in Social Anthropology from University College London and have worked as a researcher and private tutor in this scientific field.
Resourcefulness, quick grasp of the specifics of a project, resilience, empathy, a desire to learn and think out of the box, strong work ethics, teamwork and a positive and friendly attitude is mainly what I bring to the table.
Every client is treated as if they were my own small business. I would love to discuss with you the opportunity to prove my point.
