    Data Scraping Specialist

United States - Last active: 06/30/2014

I created this listing solely to offer my specialized experience with scraping, scrubbing, and transforming data sets. I use a combination of premium (paid) software tools to run scrape operations. I understand the way that web servers generate content and how the output directly reflects the contents of database tables. I'm familiar with web servers in ways useful to successfully scraping sites without hitting walls (cookies, logins, user agent blocking, using proxies, randomizing time between requests, avoiding DoS-attack triggers, etc etc) I have experience writing and interpreting regular expressions, used in defining crawl rules & index rules when using automated scraping tools. With years of project management experience (both with agencies and as a consultant), I take pride in being self-sufficient and over-delivering on the result. Please refer to my LinkedIn for my work history. Here's a quick bio: - Website projects since youth - Computer Science BS, USF - 10 years professional experience: - Job 1: Software Developer for Marketing Software - Job 2: SEO Analyst - Job 3: Technical Director of SEO Dept (iSearchMedia in SF downtown) - Job 4: Contract Work (3 yrs now), helping businesses grow through technical marketing consultation and resourcefulness ("growth hacking" methodologies--such as data scraping).

I'm thinking and playing with computers since I can remember. I’ve got my first computer when I was 12 years old. Luckily, this wasn’t a good computer this fact drove me through the programming world, because I spent my of my time coding small solutions just to have fun. Since them, I knew that I wanted to be a programmer for life. I took my first programming class when I was 14, finished my first college-level course with 16. In my last year in high school, I found a job to work building PDV software in a local company, but I resigned because I was dreaming about university. I started a Computer Science major in 2010, which opened my way to work in many fun projects. I helped to plan and build an online platform to connect hundreds of students and professors in order to help them to get founding for their projects. I also worked with investments, mobile apps, and many other small web applications. Until 2012 when I earned a scholarship to study abroad. In December 2012, I landed in Canada and had amazing 16 months, which I could study Computer Science at the University of Calgary, work as a summer student building new solutions for an Oil and Gas company, and I also had a blast connecting with people. I can tell from my past experiences that my greatest skill nowadays is to adapt and learn from new environments in order to solve any kind of problems. If you have a problem and you need help we can have a talk, I would love to help.
