    Excel/VBA Consultant

United States - Last active: 1 day ago - Tests: 6

I am a full-time, home based IT consultant in Arkansas. I have extensive experience working with Excel and many other computer based programs. I have six months experience working with companies on a consulting basis, implementing custom business solutions. I work 40 hours a week, and I can do work on any size job. I am always in the process of familiarizing myself with newer and up-to-date technologies and up to the challenge of taking on any projects that you may have. I am very familiar in helping people with their technical needs, as I have eight years of experience working as a supervisor at a large telecommunications company in Las Vegas, NV. I enjoy helping people with their technical needs and try to go above and beyond for them in any way that I can. Business solutions is my specialty and I place a high value on honesty, integrity, and getting the job done right.

My previous line of work led to the start of a VA business. My goal is to work with what I like and keep up the trend of various tasks. The rate described is my lowest rate, which I usually apply because I sometimes like to do assignments to keep my skills at a recent level, and then that rate apply. On the other hand could other duties require a higher rate. My VA role is one of the multi-skilled, or multifaceted as I use for marketing since I've learned a lot of different skills during the positions I held. I'm very service minded, as I started out as a cashier and office girl and had the privilege to work with people with genuine feeling for service. I find it likable and I also think it makes sense to keep a service minded attitude towards customers. If you see someone without a smile - give them one of your kind of recaps what service is. Additionally to the service offered in the line of work, that is. Later on I've for several years each, held positions as sales secretary, school secretary, administrative consultant, application specialist and web/system developer. Besides having extensive work experience, the studying of sociology, psychology and computer science at an academic level constitutes useful knowledge. Still today I feel at home in almost any constellation of work, I like to do repetitive tasks from time to time, and challenging tasks from time to time. Work satisfaction is important to me, and it means delivering good results, to be of benefit to the receiver. For myself the help and learn part goes a long way. One other thing to mention is that I learned to type at an early age. That skill has been both useful and fun during the years. Besides skills in service and typing, I'm interested in languages, both human and computer. Regarding human language, I write with a fine imagination, do my research and have a splendid vocabulary. Regarding computers, I like to make life easier for end users, and I also focus on usability. Regarding both languages, I also like to enhance the experience for the reader/user. Oh, I nearly forgot (if you're still reading this short essay that is), I also do some graphic designs from time to time. Web design, Logo designs, Business Cards, Newsletter, formatting in Word, layouts in PowerPoint and so on! We need beautiful things! Cheers!

    Spreadsheet Guru and Workflow Specialist

    United States - Last active: 1 month ago - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 1

When I was 11, my parents showed me how to use Excel to track my trading card collection. Today, I'm a spreadsheet ninja. I know pivot tables like the back of my hand, I can script you out a macro in a matter of hours, and I can nest functions together in ways you've never thought possible. Big words, sure, but I back it up. I have built reports, ad hoc and repetitive, that have gone as high as the board of directors of Fortune 500 corporations. My VBA-enabled smart forms are used by front-line operations personnel, and are robust enough to handle transactions from any end user. I also have many years of experience developing business procedures and workflows. I can map out a workflow and easily identify where efforts are being duplicated or wasted. My expertise in automation has helped large companies reduce their staffing costs while reducing manual error rates and increasing overall productivity. As a business person who "speaks tech", I make a fantastic liaison between end-users and developers, thereby reducing complications during the business application development process, and making sure that the product you need is what is actually delivered. I also know a thing or three about coding and web design. Self-taught mostly; I took the intro to Comp Sci courses in college, but I picked up most of my chops modding video games and automating repetitive tasks at work. I've also taken a few Codecademy courses to round out my knowledge base. I've never spent too long in any specific language, so I actually think I have a better understanding of how computer science works than a dedicated coder who stays in one language all day does. In essence, a lot more breadth than depth. Languages I know today and are comfortable taking on work for include C/C++/C#, Java, Python, HTML, CSS, and PHP.

Bilingual Italian English, versatile worker, fast learner

    Italy - Last active: 1 day ago - Tests: 18 - Portfolio: 10

Please If you need my services contact me with a message, odesk doesn't allow us contractors to contact You (client) directly unless you started a contact with us before, so any question posed as custom message in the decline offer goes unanswered if you haven't started an interview before declining the offer we made as contractors. Thank you for your understanding. At the momet my main objective is to accumulate expertise and more experiences in the fields where my strenght points lay, The final goal I'm hoping for is one day have an interesting curriculum that shows my versability, taking full advantage of my bilinguism, as Italian is my mother tongue while I've studied English, of course also business oriented, for the past 15 years, attending courses in English specialized schools like London's Malvern House. During the years both for school and recreational projects I've found myself working with programs like : microsoft word, for my creative writing passion; microsoft powerpoint, because words and poems are good but pictures and photos help expressing your ideas so much better and in a more immediate way; microsoft excel, using spreadsheet and filters to organize, schedule and make data easier to find. I've been inside different communities where I helped out managing and overviewing their forums and chats. At the present time I'm still in the University, studying in the conservation of cultural heritage field, hoping one day to enter into an american art gallery or a museum and become an art curator. To help fulfill this ambition,I've successfully attended Frank Boehm's course of "Exhibitions and Installments" at the IUAV in Venice, and learned some practical lessons about art exhibitions from Alessio Boschi. I've worked on my local territory with some contemporary art artists, Giusy Marchesini and Abdessamad Halloumi, helping with few of their temporary exhibitions. In the above mentioned positions, the photography course taken with Guido Guidi was a huge help, as it had helped me develop my artistic eye especially for compositions.
