Multitasking Star Achiever
I'm a licensed vocational nurse with 1.5 years of clinical experience in a physician's office. My work experience include assisting to establish a new home healthcare business from February 2007 until December 2009 where my duties include front desk, clerical and secretarial duties, data entry, event planning, appointment scheduling, new employee training, marketing, and community outreach among many others.
My healthcare background includes disease prevention and management, medication management, vaccination administration, care planning, human development, diet and nutrition, rehabilitation techniques, and other skilled nursing.
My most recent work experience as a nurse gave me a year and a half of experience with assisting the physician with his duties including transcribing his notes and the patient's reports.
I am currently working as a temporary office manager for the same home health agency I helped establish in 2007. They have successfully expanded and needed someone experienced to help them start an office at a new location in a nearby city.
I'm currently working towards my goal of becoming a physician assistant. I was in high honors, a student leader, newsletter contributor, advisory board member, and a community volunteer while I was in nursing school. Working at home will allow me to get closer to my goals. Being accepted to a Physician Assistant school is extremely competitive and it is crucial for me to get as much experience as I can.
On my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, reading, playing paintball, or just staying active. I also have years of experience in hiking, kayaking, and spearfishing off the coast of Southern California.
