Designer for mobile apps, websites, and front-end web developer
My goal on this website is to find work that fits my experience and skill level. I want to help collaborate and create great mobile apps and web experiences that drive business results. Most of my experience is related to helping design and visualize a mobile app or website by creating detailed wireframes and full-color mockups, using Balsamiq, Illustrator or Photoshop, of the application, and working closely with the stakeholders and those involved, to refine and ultimately create a final set of designs ready for the development process. My goal in every project is to think of and design the best user experience, for the end user of the application, as this is so important not to forget. It's about having empathy for the end user.
I also have experience building the front-end of the actual website or web application, in detail, and making sure it renders consistently across browsers and devices. I have experience creating, from the ground up, the css and html markup needed for responsive websites that can be designed for mobile and desktop screen sizes.
Since my background is in design, I have learned the importance of being detail-oriented, so this experience applies directly to my skills in developing the front-end code for the interface that I myself have designed, making sure the integrity is kept through the development process. With that said, I also have experience working in .NET C# and Visual Studio, to implement into the actual project source code, along-side the development team, the front-end code to reflect the design that I created with the project stakeholders. This allows me to make sure the design is more accurately reflected until the project is actually released, since I'd consider myself quite detail-oriented, as mentioned, I like to make sure the design is kept in the actual final project.
My overall goal is to do more mobile app design, specifically for iOS, iPhone and iPad, and I have designed and worked on around 25 mobile app projects, mostly for the iPhone. I like to take the ideas for an app and detail and plan it all out, in the best user experience possible, for the end user and work closely with the mobile developers to help maintain the design throughout the process of development. I have experience taking a mobile app and working with the developers to make sure they have what they need to complete the project. I also have been using YouTrack as a project management and communication tool, for this. I like to create native iOS and use design patterns that are consistent with Apple app and design patterns, since I feel that is what people are used to, but I will break out of that if I feel it is better for the end-user. So first, when I design an iOS app, I start with native controls, unless it seems right to use custom elements, it all depends on the business goals and budget of the project.
