Words don't exist in a vacuum. They are a big part of an overall concept, a lean mean selling machine that is designed and tenderly crafted to persuade. I write to meet your objective, to help you create opportunities, to spark imagination in your audience. And with 10 years' experience in writing across print, web and broadcast platforms, in media, retail and education industries, I know exactly the level of research and analysis that's required for crafting effective copy VS delivering fluff that sounds good but doesn't get the job done. Somebody asked me what exactly it is that I write. That actually got my tongue - how to put it in words? Well, here goes: Radio - trailers, ad-libs, commercials, roving reports, live broadcasts, open talks; Marketing communications - press releases, websites, print ads, magazine articles, advertorials, sales kits, member loyalty communications, direct mailers, e-newsletters, flyers, brochures, pamphlets, banners, emcee scripts, Google adwords, invitation and greeting cards; Corporate communications - corporate speeches, stakeholder updates, annual reports; Magazine writing - feature articles, entertainment articles, gossip articles, television reviews, lifestyle articles, food and book reviews; Web writing - website pages, blogs, social media posts, etc. I also write song lyrics, jingles, rap, poems, short stories, my personal blog articles, and anything that falls under creative writing I guess! :P

    Jollyjoie Serad

creative writer, editor, proofreader, logo designer, video editor

    Philippines - Tests: 7 - Portfolio: 6

When I was still a college student, I became a writer in our official school publication. In fact, my position started from the lowest, as to being the correspondent, editorial assistant, Literary Editor, Opinion Editor, Features Editor, Associate Editor until I became the Editor-in-Chief before I graduated my degree. I really supposed to take Journalism as my degree course, yet, my academic scholarship really wants to have a degree with a Licensure Examinations right after earning it. That's why I thought of taking Bachelor of Education so that I can still make use of my writing skills and even encourage my students and other people to do so. I was also a scrabble player since elementary of the same school where I graduated. With this kind of sports, I was able to widen my fluency and vocabulary in English. And now, I am even the coach of our scrabble team and we champed different tournaments already the moment I started to be their coach. We even reached the National Finals and still champed. We were also supposed to go to Birmingham, London last December for the World Youth Scrabble Challenge, but due to lack of support, we were not able to grace the opportuned event. Also, I coach essay writing competitions every time there are inter-school contests and of course, we do not go home without taking places in the contests. Aside from writing, editing and proofreading, I am also into making logos and designs. I have successfully lay-outed a tarpaulin for all occasions, arranged our own school publication layout and made logos for different fields.
