    Full-stack engineer / Python Developer

    Lithuania - Last active: 3 days ago - Tests: 4 - Portfolio: 3

Previously: Dell inc. as Senior Software Engineer, Barclays as Senior Cloud/Unix Engineer. Disclaimer: oDesk is not perfect. Sometimes you've got a client with low response rate, when project goes for months, and in the end, client appears to be doesn't know difference between backend and front-end and API terms.. And we ended up with a work which client didn't intended me to do. He didn't check my results even once during 1 month period! I'm trying my best, but sometimes there's conflicts between which technology to use, while I've been hired to code with flask framework, client requested to use other framework which I've been not familiar with. It's no problem to learn it but, I'm not into legacy stuff so I've refused to processed, at least because, as always, I'd be the one to blame, when their proposed solution, would fail their expectations. This would end up in blames regarding my competence in my field, although the solution was not meeting our use-case :) Please choose technology responsibly, and only if you're an expert in that field, and not because "you've heard it somewhere" :) If you're a client who wants a time saver in your team, a guy who knows his field as best as he can, a person who will bring you valuable solutions, I'm the one to go with. But all above works only when you trust me and you'll communicate with me constantly. Specialties: High Availability Systems, Clustering Environments, Cloud Computing, Unix environment Primary Skills: Development, Scalability, Deployment in other words SOA and REST is everything in IT. 3 Years python/django developer with 7 years of PHP background. 10 Years of Linux administration. 1 Year of Openstack development, deployment Some technologies which I've been using recently a lot: ansible, chef, saltstack, mongodb, cassandra, redis, rabbitmq, celery, node.js, angular.js, ceph, nginx, gunicorn, zeromq, sensu, logstash

    Programmer, system administrator and designer

    Spain - Last active: 2 days ago - Tests: 7 - Portfolio: 1

    - Quick Bio I was very interested in computers since I was a kid, I started my contact with them using a very old 386 IBM PC running MSDOS. When I was 12 years old I realized computers were not meant only for gaming, so I learned to program in Visual Basic and Borland C, since then, I keep on learning new programming languages one at a time and studying other fields like system administration, network protocols, graphic design, music production and web development. To resume my impressions after many years coding, I can say about me that I fall in love easily with any new challenge and keep working on it until becomes no more a challenge. - Education I finished elementary and secondary school and found no interest on starting University, so I went for the choice of educating myself using books, manuals, papers and practice. This way has given me many success and also many rejections by former potential employers. As I consider myself a honest person, I will not try to impress you with a list of educational centers and dates, but I’m glad to provide you a list of my skills in several fields. - Professional Experience I was working in many different jobs (from construction to commercial) since I’m 17 years old, and started to work professionally with computers at the age of 21. My first job was in a marketing and advertising agency as a graphic designer and web developer. After 1 year working there, I moved to a pure web development company and my main task was to recode a very old CMS system. After almost two years, I moved to Germany and I was hired by a company that works very close to the Swiss tourism web marketing team. My main task here consisted in administering more than 50 virtual machines in amazon ec2 cloud, aside with hundred of web services. Eventually I did backend and frontend development and migrations of ~2GB of relational data to a MongoDB replica set. - Objective I’ve just started my career as a freelance, currently looking for customers that are not afraid of taking technology risks but understand what controlled evolution is, that do not live in a fantasy bubble where technology progress does not exists and are always willing for a better system or product. Those who give me enough freedom to innovate, but surround me with domain knowledge in order to create together nothing less than tailor-made solutions. If you are this kind of customer, we are already in the same wave, and I will be glad to get immediately in contact with you for pushing that project as far as it deserves. -
