Videography, Editing & Effects
Last active: 06/14/2013
I'm a videographer, editor, and effects artist from the UK.
My first love is underwater videography: diving, filming, and editing films of marine life. It's incredible to see the amazing things that go on down there, (ask me about the Shrimp gobies!) But with low light, huge colour loss, and no control over my subjects, it's a real challenge to produce beautiful film; it requires a lot of patience, and a lot of time in post production.
Now I use my skills on a wider variety of projects, both personal and freelance. As a freelancer, I'm most useful to you in the post production stage of your project (unless you want footage of nature); cutting, colour grading, creating titles, animations, rotoscoping, and effects are where my main skills lie. But I'm flexible, and I love to learn!
I'm happy to work under the creative direction of my clients, and I love to collaborate - getting a tighter hold of the creative reins.
So why should you choose me?
-Speak to Me.
I believe in communication. It should be as frequent as necessary, but more importantly the topic and method should be appropriate; simple, concise questions are fine via email or chat, but more complicated issues should be hashed out via Skype or phone.
-Kick My Tires.
Relationships need trust. That's why I encourage you to give me a small sample of your project to see how I go. If you're happy with my work then we can take it further. It's a great way for us both to see if we can work together productively.
-The Best Policy
I'm an ex-pat. I currently live on a beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand. I'm also human, so I have to take steps to avoid the distractions that come with this lifestyle; I take my work seriously, I set myself goals and specific working hours (and specific playing hours, too), and I track my time accurately. I don't ask for money up-front, I don't make lame excuses, and I stick to deadlines. And if there's ever a real, unavoidable problem, I'll tell you about it so you're not faced with any nasty surprises.
I'm me: open, honest, and committed.
