Philosophy of Bilingual Education and Translations

United States - Last active: 28 days ago - Portfolio: 5

Language is remarkable, except under the extreme constraints of mathematics and logic, it never can talk only about what it's supposed to because it is always spreading around. Within the past few decades bilingual education has reached an all-time high. Schools all around the world are working bilingualism into their curriculum. The history of this subject has influenced my personal philosophy of bilingual education. Above all else, language is a necessity of our humanity. Modern society has shaped the way we acquire information into the form of standardized schools, tests, and curriculum. However, language is too deeply rooted in the world to be measured by any academic standards. It is my belief that the process of learning a second language isn't so rudimentarily defined. After all, in day-to-day communication nothing is consistent. Since bilingual education is beginning to harmonize two languages to learn the same material, and sometimes given the complexity of the contents, the students need an ample understanding of English to function in the real world. All activities, text comments, or auditions for movies that content will be in English. Following the methodological guidelines for bilingual education above, my priority is to give in spoken form, and is enhanced to the extent possible oral expression, reading comprehension, and writing abilities. As one increases the level of abstraction and conceptualization the students will need plenty of time to formulate their ideas. Taking into consideration the plethora of variables that restrict one's acquisition of a second language we must never loose sight of the ultimate goal; communication. Although this is a very vague, unmeasurable concept, the ideal goal of translation is to be able to communicate the content on a native level. Each consecutive translation must be taken with a hybridization of knowledge and cunning in order to overcome the never-ending questions.

Production Experienced Senior Designer | Creative Copywriter |

    Dominican Republic - Last active: 3 days ago - Tests: 6 - Portfolio: 42

Greetings Potential Client! My name is David, a highly motivated designer working as a senior lead designer at FOCUS MARKETING GROUP, located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, managing the pre-visuals for events, special promotions, concerts, printed materials, web design, social media managing, video editing, post-compositing, audio technician, music production and several other areas within my direct reach. I've been working as a professional graphic designer for over 7 years now, escalating quickly within every company, while still earning the trust and respect from my former clients. If i were asked what makes me a great designer, i would say it's my adaptability to any situation, feeling or theme that the client desires the work to evoke upon being seen. I also believe in fair work, if something takes me 2 hours to do, ill be extremely honest with you. If i can save you money and work fast (with high quality control) i can guarantee it will happen. Other than that, i believe my patience and listening skills will allow the client to express his every need, taking everything into consideration before starting the job. Below, i'll talk a bit more about my technical skills: Conceptualization and writing: I never understood why, but words just flow through my head with such ease, it's hard not to love creative writing. Following David Ogilvy's philosophy on Creating headlines and body Copy that sells, i feel very comfortable doing this specific job. Printed Media: I worked for a couple of clients for about a year, dealing with their newspaper and magazine ads. Quality was always kept to a high standard and satisfaction with the job was guaranteed. Although i prefer digital media due to the vibrance of the colors, i still find this area pretty interesting. Digital media: I've had the chance to work in Web and App design. However, i rather just work on the visual part, and have a developer colleague work deeply in the code so everything comes out a lot better. I also work with 2D animation, most commonly for my past employer, using those animations to create direct and impact filled Advertising Spots for our dynamic billboards. But it doesn't stop at 2D. I cannot emphasize how much i enjoy working in 3D conceptualization. If you need a product prototype to be seen in 360 degrees, or a 3D object to be seen in a 2D environment, i'd be more than happy to work with you. Branding: This is the most time consuming part of my career since i try to make it as perfect as i can. In the end, a logo is the face of a company in the market, and creating a non-appealing face is what i try my best to avoid. Here's a short example of some of my work (which is in spanish, if you need translation of a description please let me know!): http://davidnunez.imgur.com/ Hope to hear from you soon!
