    Theodore J Luoma

    Caterer

    United States - Last active: 06/14/2014 - Tests: 7

I have an unquenchable obsession with food. I spent the past sixteen years teaching myself to get around the kitchen, and I think I'm finally somewhat competent. I'm a volunteer chef for Mercy Chefs. Though I'm not a "trained" chef, I have the coat. The coat makes the man, right? Anyway, Mercy Chefs is a nonprofit organization that provides hot meals to victims and relief workers in the wake of a disaster. My last Mercy Chef deployment was in Colorado after the flooding in September 2013. Volunteering has been getting expensive, so I recently started a small catering company to help offset the costs incurred with gas, hotels, and pancakes. (I can't cook all the time). I've also recently started blogging to share recipes I may have uncovered, or occasionally, a real, honest to goodness recipe I developed myself.

My objective is ideally to find a long-term (Part-time or Full time) job where I can work from home in the translation, customer service, or Graphic Design field. Thanks to oDesk, I've had the joy of working for some amazing companies as a Bilingual Support Manager (ES-EN) for the past 2 years. I also worked as a law firm secretary, I'm a Law student and I'm working to obtain my Juris Doctor. My native tongue is Spanish, however, I was raised up in Columbus, Ohio so my English is fluent and I'd be more than happy to offer a voice call demonstration on Skype or any other available voice call service to verify my pronunciation and common knowledge of both languages. I have taken the Spanish- English Translation tests here on oDesk and I'm in the TOP 10% of test takers. I'm very responsible with due dates and easy to get a hold of online if anything should come up. I'm in the -3 GMT Time zone and available during US office hours. Well, that's about it! Feel free to browse around my profile or get in touch with me - I'm a proud 5 star contractor! Hope to work with you soon!
