I grew up with a computer since I was three and have spent more than half of my life attached to a computer.
My specialty is networks and security. I am a computer science and mathematics student at the University of Pennsylvania (upenn.edu), where my studies are mostly focused in internet security and cryptography. Additionally, I've been working as the last two years as the systems administrator for the Chemistry Department, where I manage network infrastructure and the cluster computers that are used.
My main focus in my studies and main career focus is in cyptrographic research and implementation. In short, you should be very afraid of the foundations of security for our internet, because at any given time--whether due to improved algorithms or quantum computers--everything could be broken and all the encryption used to power the internet could be broken. In my time I study a new method of cryptography and hope to implement. But for the here and now, we have to make due with what is and make certain to use the best security practices always.
