Very skilled and experienced virtual teams project & programme manager, writer, techie, digital guru, management consultant and gaming boss. I've walked the walk and am still learning through self-study every day. Currently working on crowdsourcing innovative projects and knowledge management.
Keenly interested in people and writing, I gained a BA (Hons.) in Social Psychology with Computing, then gained employment as a copywriter and editor, plus a freelance writer. I wrote several sourcebooks and published scenarios for sci-fi RPGs (such as SLA Industries, a futuristic RPG).
After leading a Psychology department at the age of 23 I moved into technical authoring and online learning, eventually specialising as an e-learning consultant. I also ran my own website design company, offering web design, email and hosting. As a lover of writing I also kept myself on the edge of the knowledge management craze and worked my way through practically every wiki/CMS/LMS system around.
More recently, in 2006, I was involved in Shadows of Isildur, one of the few remaining roleplay-intensive text-only persistent worlds, based around Tolkien’s Middle-earth. As a volunteer on staff I began as a room/object builder, then gradually was placed in charge of entire realms and then the game itself. As game owner I led a team of about 70 volunteers over a period of five years – I was the server admin, the programme manager, the knowledge management expert, the community manager, the chief trainer, the all round boss. On top of that I was chief storyteller for a persistent world in which players from around the world expected to be entertained around the clock. I also became the chief game designer, working closely with my coding team and general staffers as well as liaising with the community (a very loyal and very vocal one).
From 2007 I worked at Sony PlayStation, gaining many more years of experience as a technical author, document translation expert, knowledge management implementation, project & product manager and much more. From January 2015 I moved back to my home of Guernsey and work as a senior management consultant, offering assistance with innovation, knowledge management, programme management, excellence, best practice and more.
You can trust me to provide for you a professional piece of work. I am proven.
