Mechanical Designer, 3D Modeler - specializing in SolidWorks
Last active: 11/17/2014
I'm a mechanical designer with a background in machine design (servo-driven label inspection and die-cutting machines) and municipal water treatment systems.
I also have experience in manufacturing - I've worked as a welder, having a degree and AWS certificates; as a CNC waterjet operator and programmer; and have used a 3D printer for rapid prototyping and production manufacturing. I strive to ensure that all my designs can be manufactured, assembled, and serviced practically and economically.
SolidWorks - I am fluent in SolidWorks, having worked with versions 2006-2014, including sheet metal, routing, top-down design, and PhotoView360 rendering.
AutoCad - I am familiar with AutoCAD, though I do not have my own seat. If you need DXF/DWG files edited, I can still do this with Draftsight.
Draftsight - I can quickly edit and revise your 2D drawings with Draftsight, Dassault Systeme's free AutoCAD alternative.
Other 3D applications:
Meshlab - I can import meshes, such as Collada DAE files exported from Sketchup, and make them usable in SolidWorks. This is very useful if you have existing designs in Sketchup, or customers who use it.
Blender - I do photorealistic and nonphotorealistic rendering, fluid simulations, and other animations.
SolidWorks/3DVia Composer - I can create technical documentation and animations, or tutor you if you're trying to get started using Composer.
Other applications will come, as I am driven to learn continually.
Exceptional value for you, and by extension, your customers.
Exceptional quality, with a commitment to design intent and best practices, shunning sloppy kludges.
Customer-driven project goals, fusing your vision and knowledge with my expertise.
