I’m highly experienced in installing, configuring and maintaining different flavours of Linux, mostly Red Hat, CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu. I also have in-depth knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMWare(both Workstation and vSphere) and Xen.
During my career, I gained extensive knowledge in configuring different services such as configuring Apache and Nginx with PHP to handle high loads (mostly using php as FastCGI), then configuring and maintaining MySQL databases – optimizing, locating slow queries, backups, disaster recovery, etc.
I’m also very knowledgeable in configuring Postfix and Dovecot as well as ClamAV and SpamAssasin for fighting e-mail spam and malware. My other abilities include configuring NetFilter firewall, OpenVPN tunnels, SSH, Samba, FTP and Linux kernel tweaks as well as configuring SELinux for enhanced security.
My area of interest is also intrusion detection such as detecting web application break-ins by exploiting common flaws such as SQL, command and code injection. Aside from that, I’m also experienced in preventing Distributed Denial of Service Attacks (DDoS) on various services.
During my job as IT security stuff i also had much time to work as a penetration tester/ethical hacker.
Mostly experienced with Acunetix, Nessus, OWASP, Metasploit , Hydra, nmap and Saint.
I’m also familiar with Web Hosting Panels such as cPanel and Plesk. I’m also experienced in installing and configuring popular web applications such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal to the point of being able to create simple web sites.
When it comes to Windows platform, I have extensive knowledge of Windows Workstation OSes and solid knowledge of Windows Server OSes.
