Ukraine - Last active: 2 days ago - Tests: 19

Seeking opportunities in Perl oriented (Catalyst DBIC preferred) application development, shell and perl scripting, and BSD/Linux administration projects - to build sites and setup servers for your business or pleasure. In my mind, LAMP more often reads as LASP - Linux, Apache, (any|no)SQL, Perl - of course, with Catalyst, Template Toolkit and DBIx::Class/KiokuDB in pair with some RCS (git is preferred, but subversion, mercurial and others also possible). And of course, all can be integrated with AJAX libraries such as jQuery, Prototype, MooTools and other to create Web2.0 apptications.Great knowledge of regular expressions (regexp). Have real experience with MySql, Postgres, Oracle, CouchDB, LDAP, also worked with CPanel, Plesk and Ensim. And of course, have experience with Apache, SMTP (exim, postfix, sendmail), IMAP/POP (Cyrus, UW, Dovecot), firewalls (bsd/ipfw and linux/iptables), Samba and misc ftp and proxy solutions.I can work well as alone and as a team member.

BI Developer and some other nice things

Poland - Last active: 26 days ago - Tests: 4

I started my career as C++ developer, then I moved to Visual Basic and SQL, but when things are getting serious you start to use a real database, so I learn PL/SQL and from there I moved to Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Moving abroad was only the next natural step in my search for more interesting and challenging projects. I admit it, a girlfriend was a good reason too. I think I passed the test, if I still have no intention to come back to mamma. When I joined MicroStrategy I knew only that I enjoyed my time with the rudimentary BI tool I was using, I knew something more was out there. With my Oracle and programming background I started working on ETL and Data Modelling projects, but you don't do BI if you don't understand your customer's business. Finally a way to combine my job and my communication degree. In the last four year I have be travelling around the world working in different environments and having my part of fun doing it, and I was lucky enough to do it adding new experiences and skills to my curriculum. And a wife as well. And now? now I'm looking for the next step in my life.

I am very good in preparing documents including Project Proposal, Scope, User Scenarios, Features, Functional Requirements, Data Modeling, Workflows, UML, Wire-frames, Tasks Sheet, Work Order and Milestones - I am expert in writing intelligent and complex algorithms. I have developed Stacking, Packing & Picking Plans Generation and Forecasting algorithms - I have worked in conventional and AGILE Scrum environment - I have developed mobile web applications using HTML5 and JQuery Mobile - I have good architectural, organization & communication skills - I am self-motivated, creative, honest and hardworking - I am not a traditional or typical developer; I always think out of the box and love the challenges I have worked on many applications including Material Resource Planning, Distributed Resource Planning, Electronic Inventory Management, Barcode, Logistics, Transportation, Shipping, Supply Chain, Forecasting, Warehouse Management, EDI, CRM, CMS, FMCG, Manufacturing, Costing, Trading, E-Commerce, POS, Accounting, Finance, HR, Payroll, Institute/School Management, Email Marketing, Social Media, Rewards & Loyalty Program, Health Care, Hotels Booking and Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Server and Office365 solutions. Among my strongest areas are architect designing and design patterns implementation such as MVC, Singleton, Factory Method and Dependency Injection. A good architecture provides a strong base to application. I divide whole project in independent and fully functional tiers and layers such as GUI, Business Logic and Repository (DAL & Database), any change in any layer does not affect others, for example change in Business Logic or database will not affect GUI and likewise. To take full advantages of a good architecture I build my own DTO (Data Transfer Objects), BO (Business Objects) and Foundation. This architecture enables me to make any change, bugs fixing, enhancement, parallel development and TDD/ Test Automation quick, simple, easy and effective. I prefer to use Provider Model (Interfaces/Factory Method/Extensibility) if application is extendable and dynamic in nature. My objectives are very clear: client satisfaction at best level, excellent feedback, learning, earning and a good everlasting business relationship.

    Rails dev - Linux admin

    Argentina - Last active: 09/21/2014 - Tests: 19

Over the past 20 years I have been involved in several large projects including both software and hardware elements. I am looking to bring my expertise to businesses that have complex needs but don't have the volume to justify the expense of in-house talent. My skills include: - Project and team management: I have led web development projects from 3 to 30 people, using RUP, Scrum and homegrown methodologies. I know how to earn trust and gain the respect of collaborators, management, peers and clients. - Rails - I love the platform and have been working almost exclusively in RoR projects in the past 4 years for several different clients. - I prefer to use Thin, nginx, haml, jQuery, Semantic UI, Webistrano, MySQL or SQL Server, RVM and Rails 4.0 for new RoR projects. - I have experience consuming services like Twilio, SendGrid, UrbanAirship, and interfacing with payment gateways (usually Stripe and PayPal). - TCP/IP networking in general and the most popular protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, SNMP, SSH. I also have a lot of experience troubleshooting connectivity and performance problems. I enjoy working with peers, but I can also work alone as developer and server administrator in small projects.
