    Brazil - Tests: 7 - Portfolio: 2

Before I even go to university i started working with Web-development. My first experience was about 6 years ago with pure HTML using frames in Dreamweaver 3. Since then I have worked hard to improve my skills in every way possible, not just as a web-developer but as a general programmer, and now I work essentially with Open Source software like Python(+Django), PHP, Linux/FreeBSD, PostgreSQL, etc.My degree in computer science helped me to understand the basics of a computer from the bits in the processor instructions to multimedia, and thus can be used everywhere to improve the final result of a project.

    Tom Jordell

    MEAN-stack Developer & System Administrator

    Sweden - Tests: 2

I'm a full-fledged Web Developer and System Administrator. I am currently a full-time employee as a Lead Developer and the primary System Administrator, currently managing a large scale server cluster spread across the globe with load balancing and sharding of databases. I'm very passionate about development and servers in general and there's nothing else that fuels my drive like this does. I am completely self-taught which only shows the passion I have for development and servers and I enjoy learning new things. I spend a lot of my free time developing but I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends and often find ourselves riding motocross in the wild which is another passion of mine. I believe the web is the future, everything will be ported to it. There will be no programs or apps for either desktop or mobile devices, it'll all be residing on the web and I believe it is very important we make sure that it is in good hands when we get there. Decentralizing the web with something similar to the BitTorrent protocol is what I think would be a good option. I primarily develop in Javascript, utilizing NodeJS for back-end and AngularJS for front-end, always maximizing performance and quality by bringing as much of the back-end work to the front-end which decreases server load drastically. I've also developed in PHP and been working in frameworks such as Laravel. I always write object-oriented code. I've specialized on load balancing and clustering of applications to bring the best performance possible to the user. My workflow utilizes many third-party tools to ensure I keep an organized development environment and to aid me in development and keep me up to speed. I use multiple Vagrant virtual machines to bring me a good development environment and virtualize a production environment before deploying. I use Git for version-control and have a private GitLab setup on my servers, but I enjoy using GitHub as well. I use Yeoman for project scaffolding and Grunt to minify CSS, Javascript and renaming assets to force a browser cache reload. Grunt also gives me live browser reload so I save a couple of seconds each time I update a part of my code. The applications I develop can be deployed to Heroku or any other server with a single command. All my applications are responsive and delivers maximized performance while maintaining a high security level. I've worked with tons of API's and written a couple RESTful API's myself. These include Facebook SDK, Instagram API, Twilio API, DigitalOcean API, Mailgun API and many many more.

    Python - Django developer

    Philippines - Tests: 2

Linkedin: http://ph.linkedin.com/pub/elmer-medez/8/b08/83a Github: https://github.com/emedez Thank you for viewing my profile. I'm awful at selling myself, it gave me a headache just to write this text. I spent the last four years writing web applications using open source technologies. I suppose my forte is Python/Django since it is what I frequently use. I'm probably better than average but certainly not on the level of Guido van Rossum or Jacob Kaplan-Moss. I also have varying experiences in the following: Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL Frontend: HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS Version Control: Git, Mercurial OS: Ubuntu, CentOS Deployment: Nginx, Ansible Editor: vim, PyCharm Others: Amazon Web Services, Vagrant, Test-Driven Development, Design Patterns, Refactoring ... and many more. My skill level on most of these are on the jack of all trades level, definitely not an expert. Those features that I use regularly are probably engraved in my muscle memory while the others need looking up on references. I have collections of best practices on these technologies which I had gathered from reading on stackoverflow, blogs and lurking on IRC channels whenever I'm not working (or not bonding with the wife and kid). I excel in Math during my studies and won competitions. This skill helped me a lot in solving programming challenges. I can dedicate 40 hours per week spread around 7:00p-2:00a UTC+8 daily (longer/more time on Saturday/Sunday).
