    javascript/python/perl developer

    Russia - Last active: 10 days ago - Tests: 8 - Portfolio: 7

I'm a developer with 15-year experience of writing various web-applications (Perl, Python, Javascript, both front- and backend) and scientific research in computational physics (PhD, molecular dynamics simulation of condensed matter). For last several years I'm a CTO in one of the largest real estate agencies (~500 employees) in St.-Petersburg, Russia, where I both write code, supervise IT staff and communicate with company's contractors. I have solid experience in writing technical requirements, task decomposition, database architecture design, system administration and writing code that makes all these things work together; I'm also an experienced troubleshooter. In particular, I have written a CRM and reporting system (Python, Javascript) that is currently used as a basis for all business processes in the company; I've authored a solution for regular estate advertising (Perl) on a number of magazines and web-sites that works 24x7 for last 8 years. During last several years I have also completed several websites as a freelancer. This includes a platform for Russian-speaking scientists online seminar (elektron2000.com), a show case for the jewel shop (auroragold.ru) and a show case for new buildings projects in St.-Petersburg (novoe.ecoton.spb.ru). Also I have a few tiny open source projects (mostly Javascript) that can be found at my GitHub (https://github.com/vne).

    Perl + Mojolicious coder

    Russia - Last active: 4 days ago - Tests: 5 - Portfolio: 2

I am working as a web developer for about 10 years. I have started with small freelance tasks and ended with complex web projects. I believe my strong point is ability to understand other's code. I have done many freelance projects involving modification of working projects and that required deep study of code that has been written before. Such a work usually harder than writing a project from zero. I also have wrote from zero two complex CMS with Perl+Mojolicious. One of my large achievements is a complex site written on Perl for a non-commercial international organization (see in portfolio). Last three years I am working on a large online magazine with elements of social network. This requires understanding of Perl, fastCGI, HTML, MySQL. I am constantly implementing new features and fixing bugs that remained from old programmers. I prefer writing in Perl, though I understand PHP and have done many projects with this language. Listed below are my skills: — MySQL — Perl — Mojolicious — PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery — Nginx configuration — Basics of Linux — dotCloud and other PaaS deployment

I'm the perfect person to help your app run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Do you have a plan for a new web app that you need someone to bring to life? We can work closely together to ensure that things are up and running quickly and as you envisioned it. In my spare time outside of working on the computer I travel as much as I possibly can and I'm also studying the Chinese language.

    System engineer and backend programmer

Russia - Last active: 10 days ago - Tests: 2

I have five years programming experience after six years university education. And I know some about systems organization. My idol is Ken Richey, who is a great men and great engineer. Like him, I try to think more about "how it work" and "what I must do, if I want this system behavior". I can forgot about functions prototype or even language syntax, if didn't use it few months. But never about internal logic. And can use reference books as well. One from my general ability allow me consume unknown things with unknown technologies in a very short time. Because in a global scope it's usually very similar to anything, than I know. I had work in web studio as backend programmer, CRM-product support company as programmer, regional network provider company as network engineer , video software company as programmer. It all included short cycle developing, no more than five months per one project (it was old, not my own projects also). That is my negative attribute. My education profile sound as "Software for electronic system" + "Complex protection of information objects".
