    Egypt - Last active: 10/06/2014 - Tests: 2

I have been involved with Linux professionally for the last 12 years. I have worked on setting up Linux servers, including almost all network services DNS, DHCP, Web servers, MySQL Databases, iptables Firewalls, proxies ... You name it, I've done it. I've supported various multinational petroleum companies and communication giants. I am pretty sharp debugging and troubleshooting network issues. I've also worked for the past 5 years almost exclusively on cloud computing. Be it multinationals like Microsoft, Canonical, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and others, to governmental agencies and SMBs I regularly support various smaller businesses remotely, with yearly contracts. So I'm pretty used to working remotely and getting things done that way. My scripting skills enable me to automate almost all of the needed daily tasks. I absolutely love doing Cloud/Linux/Unix design, administration and support work. I will surely enjoy supporting you and your environment. My friends tell me, "the servers love you" :) I'm sure yours will too!

    Russia - Last active: 11/17/2014 - Tests: 7 - Portfolio: 1

Over the last 10 years, I was working with *nix-like OSes. I started from FreeBSD and OpenBSD, and now I use mostly Gentoo Linux. I have developed a big bunch of parsers/small scripts, configured a lot of different software. I have experience with a few different programming languages, mostly Python and bash. I've tried myself in web development (using flask, mongodb, a little of jQuery, etc). At my main job I work as a DevOps/Systems administrator. I use Ansible, ElasticSearch, Gitlab with Gitlab CI, pacemaker, docker, and many more cool things! I also mentor junior developers. Right now I need some extra money, so I'd love to do the following: 1) Ongoing sysadmin stuff. RAID, gmirror, software installation, compilation 2) Automation tasks with Ansible 3) Work with docker containers, write dockerfiles. 4) Do some Python coding to glue things together I can dedicate a few hours every day with more hours on holidays. I usually work between 7-10am CST (8-11am EST).

    Sr. Software Engineer, Solutions Architect

United States - Last active: 2 months ago - Tests: 4

Most of my recent work has been in Java and LAMP web services (most recently with non-blocking Java sockets and nio) usually combined with AJAX (or dynamic script node) front ends. My favorite mathematical constructs are continuous functions on the unit interval; my favorite CS area is machine learning; I love the Sigmoid function, prod-sum T-norm fuzzy logic, and server security. A low-level programmer at heart, I don't particularly like CMSs or frameworks, because their defects appear over time and when you write to a CMS you're stuck with it (often a particular version of it) forever. I also don't think jquery is magic. I'm intensely interested in new ideas, have a broad (and in places, deep) understanding of math, business, economics, and the sciences, love solving problems, and have boundless sympathy for the end user. With prodigious raw ability and many years experience as a contract programmer, if I have good documentation over a weekend, I can hit the ground running with any system or API on Monday morning. I'm also a good Linux server admin, especially on Debian and Ubuntu.

Expert Linux Administrator and Perl Scripter with 20 Years Experience

    United States - Last active: 09/20/2013 - Tests: 7

I have spent the last 20 years working with Linux and Unix servers in a system administration capacity, since I first discovered Linux in 1993 to the present. I have worked in academic, ISP, and large enterprise environments. I am familiar with administering all basic internet services such as DNS (BIND), e-mail (sendmail, postfix, qmail), FTP (various servers), and web servers (primarily apache). In my capacity of system administrator over the last 20 years I have also become an expert at Perl and shell scripting, from automating small jobs to creating more complex integrations between other tools. I am highly regarded by my peers that I have worked with, for learning new environments quickly, being able to implement anything in Perl, knowing obscure tricks in Linux, etc. If your need touches any of those things, I can help you and help you quickly.

I took up with programming about 18 years ago, then it was only my hobby, but about 9 years ago my passion became also my work. My professional experience begins with web development. I started with Perl, PHP which I eventually left for Java based technologies. During my carrier I gain not only high skill programming experience but also code maintenance and refactoring skills. Continuous integration, build systems like jenkins and bamboo, test driven development are engineering tools used by me in every day work. I am mainly concerned on software engineering, but I have had a role as a team leader and analytic as well, what helps me in understanding not only the code but also business word. I am highly competent and I care about being up on new trends and technologies in software engineering. I continually extend my knowledge.
