Summary Ever since I can remember technology has been an important part of my life, this has taken me from founding my own small technology company back in Sweden to working on projects all over the world. This same focus on technology also allows me to have a broad understanding of how technology is evolving and it has given me the ability to widen my knowledge which is now spread across several different kinds of technological areas. References will be provided upon request. Specialities I am an experienced developer within the mobile sphere having built both back office software as well as fully fledged content delivery and billing solutions for some of the biggest carriers in the world. Ive had several titles in top lists in the apple appstore and on carriers across the world. While mobile has been my main focus the last couple of years my base lies in web where I have developed solutions to allow companies of all sizes to have a presence on the web. I’ve built systems and websites for everything from small local companies to big global companies. For the last couple of years my focus on web has been towards Ruby on rails using a BDD philosophy having finished both big and small sized projects by successfully leveraging cucumber acceptance tests and story writing as well as unit tests based around rspec. While being a partner in different businesses I have also gathered skills in business planning and management.

I have a wife. Yes, I'm 24 and I'm already married. She has a nice name - Ruby. She always talks before thinking so my friends say she is on rails. Odd friends.I played truant to spend more time with my beloved. My lecturers didn't support it but what could I do - heart wants what it wants. We have been together for 5 years. Of course there were some misunderstandings and discrepancies but mostly we are of the same breed.

    MongoDB/CQRS/ES/ASP.NET MVC/Node.JS/AngularJS/BackboneJS

    Belarus - Last active: 4 months ago - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 5

About me in two words: software craftsman. I am always looking for new technologies and new solutions for a known problems. In fact I’ve first started use NoSql databases four years ago. I’ve started from ravendb, than become a huge fun of mongodb. I’ve tried redis, memchaed and read about cassandra and riak. Almost in same time me, and my collegues build our first CQRS based system. Year later we’ve started use CQRS combined with Event Sourcing and continue use it today. I don’t believe in golded grail. Everything changes and I enjoy keeping up to date with new technologies. Technology Radar by Thought Works helps in that a bit. Behind my main proficiency(.net) during last two years I’ve tried and learned node.js and Dropwizard java framework built by Coda Hale from Yammer. I also greatly improved my client side skills and built two single page applications. One is based on backbone (Theranest) and another one is based on angular (Hummingbird). I have one rule when starting new project: “Try something new”. I’ve strongly believe in the open source. Me and few other Paralect founders build open source tool for mongodb management robomongo (http://robomongo.org/). It is widely used around the globe and has between 500 and 3000 download per day. I am StackOverflow'er (http://stackoverflow.com/users/508601/andrew-orsich). I am very proactive and enjoy impact to the future of the project I am working on. I am always analyze a market and trying to come up with better, or improved ideas. My previous customers liked that about me a lot. This passion combined with my intention to learn and apply new technologies helped me to create and run two startups: Theranest and Hummingbird (see more details below) over the last year. Theranest now successful startup which is constrantly growing. Hummingbird just opened for a beta clients. Performance, scalability and big data was most interesting to me over the whole my career. During this year I want to apply my teoretical knowledge of Twitter architecture (batch, serving, real time layers) and make deeper step into Big Data world. I want to try Twitter Storm and Hadoop on a real project. I am comfortable being uncomfortable. Current technology stack is: Server side: ASP.NET MVC 3-4, C#, Signalr, MongoDB, SQL Server, Lucene for full text search, Quartz.net for scheduled tasks, Dependency Injection, NLog. Node.js, express, socket.io, mongodb, etc. Testing: Unit Testing, UI testing with Selenium Client side: BackboneJS / KnockoutJS / AngularJS, RequireJS, Twitter-Bootstrap, jQuery, Mustache, Underscore, etc. Certified mongodb DBA - https://s3.amazonaws.com/edu-cert.10gen.com/downloads/0a986eb852da42d0967db95e132bc44a/Certificate.pdf

    Expert freelance web/application development

United States - Last active: 2 months ago - Tests: 7

The path which lead me to where I am now began when I was about eight years old. After playing a few games of Baldies, an old real-time strategy game, I asked my mom and dad how video games were made. As soon as they told me that they were programmed, I was on my way and hooked. Within a year, and not without the help of my similarly-minded grandfather, I learned a lot of QBASIC. I soon managed to pick up HTML, as well. After a couple of years, these two began feeling stale to me, and I went on to bigger and better things: Visual Basic 6.0. Not long after, VB6 met the same fate, growing to be too tasteless and limited in its scope and expression. At this point, I introduced myself to PHP. I learned PHP in 2004, when I was enthralled by the idea of running my own internet webgame. I called this game Wizard Duels, which eventually went on to garner a user-base of 5000 before I lost interest and moved on to newer projects. I also started doing some freelance work on the side at this point, to put a little money in my empty, teenager pocket. Doing that freelance work lead me to obtain a PHP5 certification sometime in 2006. In 2007, I took a hiatus from programming, only to return a year later, nothing short of obsessive. I soon latched on to the ideology and concepts of the Ruby programming language. Its expression, to me, is beautiful, concise, and powerful in quite its own way. I've spent the past four or more years, from 2008 to now, expanding and refining my Ruby skill set. I am currently studying Computer Science at the University of Central Oklahoma. I am supporting myself through college, which, in these hard times, isn't always the easiest thing to do. Since I already spend most of my time programming, whether for school or personal projects, I imagine it couldn't hurt to try and make my way through my education doing what I already love to study and live to do. Today, I consider myself beyond competent as a programmer. I am easy to work with, reliable, and, once committed to a task, in it to win it. Most importantly, and with as much emphasis as possible, I truly love to code. Programming, to me, is not work: I love it; I live for the act of implementing brilliant ideas. Inhale a problem, exhale solutions.
